| An excellent result with swimmers
achieving 35 personal best times. I was very pleased with our young
and new swimmers. In the 9 years and 11 years age groups there were
16 races and we won 9 races, in 2 we came second against Deventio
eXcel swimmers, who will be covering 3 to 4 times the training metres
of our young swimmers. The swimmers have got the rewards of their
hard work. Also I must thank all of our poolside teachers and coaches,
a great team effort. |

- February/March 2005
|
| The Derbyshire ASA County Youth & Age Group Championships
were held between 26th of February and the 13th of March. Having 16
galas in 6 days makes this competition an endurance event for swimmers,
coaches, officials and parents. The full results can be viewed on
the Derbyshire
ASA website. |

We also had excellent results in the relay events with 3 bronze
medals, 2 fourth places, 2 fifths and 2 sixth places.
As the results show, this was a tremendous effort and quite a big
improvement from last year. The number of swimmers is constant with
the number of swims going up. This may reflect the fact that more
swimmers are entering the range of events needed to do well in the
BAGCATS.
Our swimmers won 80 medals this year from 32 last year. With 141
top 6 placings against 87 last year. 6 Midland qualifiers and 1
National qualifier against 3 Midland and 0 National qualifiers last
year.
So how did we do it, and more importantly how can we continue to
improve? How do we get the finalists to win medals, the medallists
to get to the Midlands and the Midland qualifiers to get to the
Nationals?

|
| Congratulations to all of our
swimmers who competed over the weekend, a busy schedule with two galas
in two days. Thank you to the parent officials and helpers on the
poolside, the team managers who were always in control and the parents
who supported our fine athletes, spurring them on to two great results.
The personal best performances were amazing, 50 pbs on Saturday and
a further 12 pbs on Sunday, again, well done! |

Speedo League Round 3 (FINAL)- 10th December
|
|
Well done to everyone competing at the final round, a very close
competition, excellent races, a good team spirit, the best hats
and the loudest horns! There were 11 individual best times and 12
relay best times. Thank you to all swimmers who competed in the
initial rounds, without you we wouldn't have been in the final and
earned promotion to Division 2 of the West Midlands Speedo League.
